Ulysse Nardin is a brand whose stature has been steadily rising from the shadows. It holds a special place in my heart, as it was one of the first maisons I discovered when I began my journey as a young watchmaker. With a rich history of crafting beautiful timepieces, the brand continues to impress today with modern creations that are not only extraordinary but also daringly innovative.
While many remarkable pieces pass through our shop, I must admit that this 1940s chronograph is among my favorites. Its case design is simple and clean, yet the stepped lugs—my personal favorite detail—give it a distinctive and captivating character. On my 17.5 cm wrist, it wears comfortably, with proportions that feel just right. The balance between the dial and the hands is flawless, and inside beats the Valjoux 23, a movement that has proven its reliability over decades.
If you take a closer look at the caseback photos, you’ll notice numerous inscriptions—silent witnesses to the fascinating life this timepiece has already lived.
