We offer this beautiful Cartier Lapis Lazuli (imitation) clock for sale. These clocks were sold by Cartier in the 1980s, and this particular piece is a bit more special than the standard versions.

The dial features a portrait of former African president Omar Bongo. You may wonder why his portrait appears on the clock. During that period, several world leaders commissioned custom dials from luxury brands. These special editions were often produced in small numbers and were given as gifts or distributed within their countries. Similar custom pieces exist on both wristwatches and desk clocks.

This clock is therefore not only a decorative object, but also a unique historical artifact representing a fascinating chapter of 20th-century watchmaking and political history.
